Ring with 12,638 Diamonds Breaks a Guinness World Record

Renani Jewels achieved the title of "Most Diamond in a Single Ring" awarded by The Guinness World Records with '12638' natural diamonds encrusted in it.

Renani Jewels, a Meerut, India-based jeweler, has broken the world record for most diamonds set in a single ring, according to Guinness World Records. Its "Marigold" or "Ring of Prosperity"—named for the flower's significance as a symbol of prosperity in Indian culture—boasts a whopping 12,638 individual diamonds, coming in well ahead of the previous record-holding ring, which had 7,801 stones.

The founder of Renani Jewels, Harshit Bansal, was first inspired to break this particular record while studying jewelry design in Surat, India. Roughly three years later, on November 30, 2020, he achieved his goal.

"My target was always more than 10,000 diamonds. I trashed many designs and concepts over the years to finally zero in on this," Bansal told Guinness World Records.

No two petals in the eight-layer marigold-inspired design are the same, and all 38.08-carat diamonds used are conflict free, E-F color, and VVS clarity. The ring weighs a total of 5.8 oz—but in an Instagram post, Renani Jewels assured, "The ring is human wearable and the design is very comfortable."

The caption also noted that it took three "years for concept development and designing a final product for a beauty like this."
