Choosing your jewelry is no different than choosing your wardrobe. The most important thing is to stay within your comfort zone and your personal fashion style. That said, it never hurts to get out of the box every now and then. The most important thing is that your jewelry matches your outfit. Your jewelry is the final touch to your total look. Make your fashion statement count!
You must determine what you want your jewelry to do. Do you want it front and center stage? Do you want it to be a compliment? Do you want it subtle? The occasion or event in which you will wear your jewelry is also important; make sure it fits you. An oversized sexy choker may be perfect for a night on the town, but it may not be suitable for the boardroom. Although you may have a favorite designer. There really is no need to stick with just one designer. In fact, the pieces do not need to be designer. There are many wonderful pieces on the market that are unsigned, but certainly make a fashion statement. Mix and match your jewelry to give it character and a little pizzazz!
Jewelry, both signed and unsigned, is an affordable way to complete your look. Costume jewelry can be bought cheaply and has a lot of life. Heck, we see costume jewelry from the 1920s still in excellent condition. The great thing about costume jewelry is that you can wear it, get tired of it, save it or give it away and still get good value for your money. Designer pieces tend to cost a bit more, last a bit longer, and tend to follow more traditional lines so that you can wear them for more than a season or two.
Sterling silver is affordable and very versatile. If you don't want to spend the money in sterling, buy some pieces of silver. Silver is a must in any wardrobe! It can go from delicate and delicate to large and remarkable. It can be dressed smartly or casually and is acceptable for any event or occasion. We always recommend having some gold-plated or gold-toned pieces in your wardrobe staples. 10-14k gold can be a bit pricey for many, but gold plated jewelry is quite affordable and will give you good value for money.
Gold like silver can be dressed elegantly or casually and is perfect for a very elegant look. When buying rings, you can have a lot of fun; Again, the options are endless, from large and overwhelming to dainty and feminine. The length and size of your fingers play an important role in what will look good. For example, long, thin fingers do not look good with huge rings, however, a woman who has long, thick fingers look exquisite.
Long nails? Short nails? everything makes the difference. She plays and looks what you like of what looks good. Also determine where you will use these rings. For example, if you work with fine fabrics, you don't want any rings that have sharp edges that can snag. Your rings are also part of your total statement.
When shopping for necklaces, make sure you know your neck size so that it fits you well. This is very important when buying online as you do not have a chance to test it. If your neck is a medium size, a 16 "collar will look great, however if you have a slightly larger than average neck, then a 16" collar might be too tight. Measure the length of some of your favorite necklaces that you already have. This will give you a good indication of the length you prefer. Opera necklaces that are over 30 ″ are fabulous. They can be double wrapped, knotted or whatever else comes to your imagination. When choosing colored necklaces, make sure it is a color that matches your skin tone. It can go fabulously with your outfit, but if it doesn't match or compliment your skin tone, your look could be lost.
When buying bracelets, you will need to decide where you will wear them and how noticeable you want them to be. The size and shape availability is endless - you can go from large bangles to dainty gemstone bangles. If it is a sliding bracelet, make sure it fits your hand. Make sure to measure your wrist as the fit of a bracelet is very important. If it is too big, it will look sloppy and may even slip. Too small can restrict the movement of your wrist. When shopping for earrings, the shapes and styles are endless, from pendants to chandeliers, hoops, studs and buttons.
From enamel to beads, gemstones, metal and wood. The size of the earrings is very important to the statement you make. The bigger the earring, the more noticeable and more incorporated it will become in your total look. Large earrings aren't for everyone - depending on the size and shape of your face, they can actually detract rather than attract. Experiment and find what suits you best. Your jewelry options are endless, no matter what your likes, likes or dislikes are. You will be able to complete your look the way you want with little effort. So be sure to make your fashion statement!
